The Counseling Ministry provides free counseling to anyone who needs it, whether they attend Pinewoods Chapel or not.

Those who have participated in counseling at Pinewoods come from all walks of life, and all different faith backgrounds (or no faith background at all).

Many are grieving the loss of a loved one, are facing relational conflict, or are struggling with addiction.

Most of our counseling is done by Pastor Chris, however from time to time, we have worked with other qualified and experienced counselors in our offices.

OUR GOAL

To help you meet the challenges of life in a way that will please and honour the Lord Jesus Christ and enable you to enjoy fully His love for you and His plans for your life.

OUR PURPOSE

To provide guidance in spiritual, emotional and relational matters.

BIBLICAL BASIS

We believe that the Bible provides thorough guidance and instruction for faith and life.

Therefore, our counseling is based on scriptural principles.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Confidentiality is an important aspect of the counseling process, and we will carefully guard the information you entrust to us.

There are four situations, however, when it may be necessary for us to share certain information with others:

  • when there is a clear indication that someone may be harmed unless others intervene

  • in cases of reasonable grounds to suspect abuse or neglect of a person 18 years or under

  • when consultation with other counselors is needed or recommended

  • if required by law

NOT PROFESSIONAL ADVICE

If you have significant medical, legal, financial, or other technical questions, you should seek advice from an independent professional. Our pastoral and lay counselors will be happy to cooperate with such advisors and help you to consider their counsel in the light of relevant scriptural principles.

Our counselors will direct you to your doctor or another professional regarding questions about medication, treatments, therapies or other concerns outside of our counselors’ scope of care. We make no guarantees, or promises as to the outcome of our counselling ministry.

APPOINTMENTS

While booking an appointment is free, we expect that you will show up for your appointment on time. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call to let us know.

DISCONTINUATION OF CARE

All parties have the right to discontinue the counselling relationship for any reason, at any time.

Our counsellors will attempt to provide a referral if one is available and appropriate for the situation.
