Philosophy of Chidlren's Ministry at Pinewoods Chapel

The Pinewoods Chapel philosophy of children’s ministry is that the classes and teachers are to provide an environment that is spiritually, cognitively, socially, physically, and emotionally stimulating and stable. The children's ministry is to be a warm and nurturing environment for the children to come and learn about God and the Christian life and to grow spiritually through the well developed curriculum, well educated, and experienced instructors. Parents should be able to entrust their children to our care knowing that their children will be safe and will have fun but more importantly will be learning more about our faith in God and be encouraged to grow in Him. We need to encourage the children to be the best they can be for Christ, for the church, their families, their community, and themselves. Jesus said in Mark 10:14, “‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.’ And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.” Children’s ministry is a high calling, and it is no mistake that this passage about the children and Jesus is repeated in the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. So we need to be doing this ministry with all our hearts and total dependency on the Holy Spirit’s enablement alone. Love our kids as Jesus would!

Pinezone Classes

NURSERY (Ages 0 - 18 Mo.)

Our nursery school age group has activities and bible lessons that are specifically designed to help your children connect with the message of God's Word.

TODDLER

Our toddler age group is for ages 19 months to 2 1/2 years old and has activities and Bible lessons that are specifically designed to help your children connect with the message of God's Word.

PRESCHOOL

Our preschool group is ages 2 1/2 to 4 years old (or just before entering JK) and has activities and Bible lessons geared specifically for this group to reach them with the truth of God's Word.

JK/SK

Our JK/SK group has activities and bible lessons that are specifically designed to help your children connect with the message of God's Word.

Grades 1 and 2

Children in this class enjoy crafts, games, worship and Bible curriculum taught by caring teachers who help children understand the meaning of scripture in fun and interactive ways.

Grades 3 and 4

Children in this class enjoy crafts, games, worship and Bible curriculum taught by caring teachers who help children understand the meaning of scripture in fun and interactive ways.

Grades 5 AND 6

Preteens in this class enjoy crafts, games, and Bible curriculum taught by caring

teachers who help them to understand the meaning of Scripture in fun,

interactive, and a little bit deeper ways.
