Pinewoods is an independent, autonomous congregation that is affiliated with Vision Ministries Canada.  The assembly is open to any person who is seeking to follow and serve the Lord God through Jesus Christ his Son, regardless of their denominational background.  In fact, most of the people attending do come from other denominational backgrounds.  In light of this, Pinewoods has in reality become a Christian community church where believers from the wider circle of the evangelical faith feel comfortable to worship.  While the so-called "Brethren roots"  have primarily shaped this church, we will continue to develop a style of ministry that is relevant to contemporary society and faithful to a growing understanding and respect for God's Word.

The congregation has grown substantially since 1961.  Over the years our style of worship and ministry have adapted to meet the changing needs in our community.  We offer a contemporary worship service on Sunday where the message of God's Word is proclaimed in a relevant, life changing way.  We also make use of drama to help articulate the message of Jesus Christ at appropriate times in our services.

Pinewoods encourages both corporate and personal witness of the good news of Jesus Christ.  We work towards the salvation of sinners, their baptism and incorporation into the body of Christ .  We attempt to serve the community by ministering to the spiritual and physical needs of children, singles and families through our ministries in the church.  We partner in sharing and preaching the good news of Jesus Christ in mission fields both at home and internationally.  As we are able, we support people whom God has gifted for service in ministry.
